well so it goes like this, the key is to untangle the silver strands of memory, lay them out in clear, revel in the joy or sadness of it, let the warm nostalgic feeling wash you entirely and then MOVE ON.
The way I have come to see it, it hurts when you let your past dictate your present decisions. Doesn’t matter if you are still living in the damn past, the only way to lay the demons to rest is to choose a fucking side!
“what if…” has the fatal potential to make the happiest memories a source of pain. Learn to answer every hope filled query with a rude ‘forget it’ and cherish your past, don’t evaluate it, just cherish 🙂
Sherlock always propounded the theory of objectivity. You should learn to dissociate yourself from the case and then peep into it. Another of his gems was the compartmentalization of brain. Somehow i think that in spite of his non-existent personal life, Sherlock was a genius when it came to relationships.
